Labor Day Fun

Rhoda and Emily loaded up Serenity and Olivia and drove to Farmdale State Park to meet up with the Cooksey's and their horses for a trail ride early this morning before it got too hot. Both mares were good. Rhoda reported Serenity did better than expected. She is pretty thrilled with this mare, now if we can just get her pregnant. Olivia didn't do quite as good but not terrible. No bucking but a lot of looking at things. To my knowledge this is the first time she has been taken trail riding anywhere. She led the way, trailered wonderful, and was well behaved around the other horses.

The Bridlewood video was worked on and a short version uploaded this morning. The slightly larger version would be finished later today.

As soon as it was up I left for Norris to join some of the family for our last day of fun in the sun at that Lake in the Sky. Below are a few pictures of the morning and afternoon. When I arrived Joan, Berlica, Faith, Shaeya, Sarah and mom were out fishing.
David, Stephanie and Israel showed up about the same time as I did.
Israel was pretty thrilled to play on the beach and in the water.

It wan't long before Berlica pulled up a cat fish.
Joan had a big one on her line.
It was a nice fat bigmouth bass.
Nolan and Sarah also came out, Nolan caught this big small mouth bass. All small mouths are thrown back but it sure gave Nolan a good fight.
The kids pulled the big raft up to the water slide and were having fun sliding down then doing tricks as they landed on the raft. Below Sarah is shooting off the slide,
 and ends with a splash.
Hannah looks like she is on 'the magic carpet' raft.
 Stephanie had to try too.
A bit later Brook arrived with her 3 plus Tydon. Below they are helping Sarah as she throws the net to collect minnows.
Even the minnows are HUGE at Norris. This big bluegill was too big for what she wanted and thrown back.
We were pretty tired by the time we left for home. Funny how play is exhausting, even more so than work. I stopped at the new Dollar General in Farmington to buy a flash drive for the Bridlewood video then when I got home finished the video and placed it on the new flash drive. Tomorrow I'll drop it off at Bridlewood for Cathie Trent.
The kids all left by 5:00 pm. Mark and I had BLT's for dinner. We are sure going to miss these vine ripened tomatoes this winter. The season is coming to a close. We had a shower come through this evening but not a lot of rain with it. Today is suppose to be our last hot 90 + degree day.
