Fun in the Snow

The snow continued most of the morning and the girls all had plans in the afternoon so they decided to ride in the blizzard. Do you know how hard it is to take pictures as the snow is coming down thick? The camera wanted to focus on the snowflakes or tree branches instead of the horses. Here are a few polka dotted pictures.

Leah one of Emily's friends from Kansas spent the night and got to ride Evan

Rhoda had to leave for work and Emily and Leah were suppose to head to Middle Grove for a trail ride with Mike and Diane and also check on all the horses. Killian and Evan were put back and the 2 girls took my truck to Middle Grove as it has 4 wheel drive.
Sarah stayed around and helped Mark shovel the patio and walk ways then decided the snow was perfect for building a snowman.

We didn't have any coal so she used spray paint for the eyes, mouth, buttons and hair.
It was funny to watch the dogs. Darcy was busy checking it out while Emma was petrified of the snowman.
Sarah took off with the Sauder kids to go snow boarding just about the time Emily and Leah got back from Middle Grove. They had a great time other than going into a ditch and being pulled out with the tractor.
Diane sent the pictures below. Mike is riding Mika, Leah is on Sally, Emily is on Sangria and Diane is taking the picture while riding Bunni. The 2 foals Phoenix and Promise had a good time following along.

After the ride Emily counted the herd 4 times to make sure she had them all then checked each horse out. Three times she counted 27 and one time she counted 28, there are only 27 so she must have counted one twice. All are in good health and looking happy. When they arrived the herd was out grazing by pawing the snow off to reach the tender grass. Mike added some more hay bales in the feeders.

Diane, Emily, and Leah rode the tractor back to the cottage.

The temperatures are again dropping quickly but suppose to bottom out around 10 degrees. With the 6 inch snowfall we will be having cold weather for the next few days.
