The Tower

Another beautiful day as aunt Clara would say! There was something new on the skyline of the walk today. Spark got the tower up for the windmill.

The tower is HUGE, when it was lying on the ground it is big enough for a kid to fit inside easy, in fact, Spark hired Joan's daughter Hannah to crawl inside and pull wire. I think there may be laws against making kids work but Hannah was more than happy to earn the money.
To get in perspective how tall this tower is, the view below was taken across the lake on the dam road. Spark's house is in the trees and the tower, towers over the house.

Mom's house is to the right of the picture with the beautiful burning bushes in front.
The shot below is of Joan's house across the lake with ducks on the beach and the burning bushes in the forground.

Ebby came out on the walk today with a big bone in her mouth. She didn't want to eat it she just wanted to show it off to the other dogs. Emma was coveting the bone but each time she got near Ebby, Ebby would growl.

Ebby was so ferocious that both Heidi and Emma would turn away and leave her alone.

This is the same dog that plays so nicely with all children even when they tug on her ears.
After the walk mom made another delicious breakfast. Mom is an amazing cook but it helps she uses only the best ingredients; like vine ripened tomatoes, farm fresh brown eggs, bacon and whole wheat toast.

After breakfast it was over to the office to pick up a bag of grain for Sanna here at Bridlewood. Greg Reed was working on the walls for the wood burner. He also did all the tile work so far. Greg is an independent contractor and he comes highly recommended.

Once back at Bridlewood Sanna was fed and the paddock cleaned, then down to work to pay bills.
Sophie's traveling papers were at the vet clinic which meant a quick trip to Morton, IL to pick them up. Autumn's new coggins was also there. Driving back Steven called from the farm to report that Jenis' is wonderful (we know) and that the hole is getting dug for the waterer. We will REALLY miss Steven's help when he gets a job, he is accomplishing an amazing amount of work these last few weeks.
There is one more credit application to run at Meisters so it will be back to the shop now that lunch is over.
