Izadora's Pending Delivery

Izadora is starting to bag up. She is due Nov 4th, but it would be a surprise to us if she waits that long. She LOOKS miserable. What she will do about her 2009 colt, Aragon, when she delivers is a mystery to us. When he was brought back from Middle Grove, she started acting like he was completely her responsibility, not letting him out of her sight, exactly like a mare with a foal by her side. He is still here because there are some people coming down from Joilet, IL to look at him on Sunday. I don't know if they are tire kickers or serious but he needed to be kept on the farm for the viewing. Only 2 times have we shown a horse at Middle Grove and both times were not a good experience. The first time, I couldn't make it so had Mike and Karin meet the prospective buyers out there. The mare had rolled and was dirty but it was dry so they took a push broom and knocked the worst of the mud off before tacking up. Of course Mike really didn't want to sell the mare and when the lady mounts up he tell her "if she acts up, just bail." Sure doesn't give a feeling of confidence when one hears that. After her experience she wrote us a very nasty email about how terrible we are and what kind of people groom a horse with a broom! I'm sure she was just scared and the more she thought about it the madder she got. The other experience was after a very wet week and the drive wasn't passable. After hiking in the mile long driveway, finding the horses, haltering and leading the colt all the way out for them to see they want me to let him loose to see him run which I refused to do. These people didn't give us any time to go get the colt were even warned about the roads, then were ticked about not seeing him loose. Now if someone calls and wants to come RIGHT NOW to see a horse at Middle Grove we turn them down and have them make an appointment.
An email came from the transport company coming for Chloe. The estimated time for pickup is between 2:00am and 3:00am according to the GPS. I will sleep with my cell phone by the bed, hopefully they will call when 15 minutes out to give me time to bring her out to the road. They are coming in a semi pulling a 15 horse trailer pictured below.
