We had a wonderful dinner after church with Dick and Gladys Haefli along with Melba and Jerry Hangardner. Karin brought big, fat well seasoned T bones for grilling and the fixens were numerable and delicious. Rachel brought over strawberry short cake for dessert. We were a little late but made it in time for the prayer so didn't have to do dishes. When we were growing up if we were late for the dinner prayer that would be the consequence. Not that mom ever needed a consequence for missing dinner, when that dinner bell rang we ran, in our family no one wanted to be late, mom was a great cook. My brother John's motto was he who eats the fastest gets the mostest and with 12 to 15 people around the table we were never sure if the food would make it all the way around.
After dinner we sang and visited. It was just a wonderful evening.
At the farm, Mike got Wynne covered then drove to Middle Grove to check on the horses there. They are LONELY and came running when Mike and Diane pulled up. The grass is coming up nicely, it is not real long but is coming in thick. The bad part is the drive, it is big ruts and some of them filled with water. Their van got stuck and John, my brother that lives in Farmington, IL had to come pull them out.
The really good news was Taunya's mom is out of the hospital, the chest pains were not heart related. We got to babysit Addyson for a couple of hours. She is such a joy to be with, there is nothing sweeter than a baby that holds her arms out to be picked up and then cuddles up close.
