This morning we were early to our walk with plenty of time to check over all the horses and get Raven grained. Rachel took Shadow home so there are only 6 in the foal paddock. She thinks she took the right colt. There were only 3 colts, 2 purebreds and Shadow and it was just about impossible to tell them apart. Sandy and Sunny seemed to accept him so we are pretty sure she got the right colt. Rachel gave me 4 beautiful framed pictures of the Friesians during the IL Horse Fair.
Emma has discovered that swimming is so much fun and for the last 2 days I driving home from the farm with a stinky wet dog. Today she swam in the big lake and the overflow.
Once home Sarah needed a ride to the Pekin Court house for what we thought was her last day with her license. We hired a lawyer Mike recommended named Sean Donahue and he was a wonder worker. He found out that the Peoria court house forgot to erase the ticket she got 22 months ago when she took the class. Once that was fixed he got court supervision for Sarah for the ticket she received in Pekin on route 29 so that was erased. Sarah has a completely clean record, NO tickets at all on her record. This man was amazing. Can you tell I was impressed? Anyway the court house clerk gave us all the paper work to take down to Springfield. They told us it could be mailed but then would sit somewhere for weeks and would probably get lost and if she would get pulled over it would look like she was driving on a suspended license so they HIGHLY recommended us driving it down. We did!
The gravel was delivered at the farm but cannot be spread until the John Deere tractor tire is replaced. The tire should be in tomorrow so hopefully the rain will hold off until Mike can get the right sized tire on.
Steven found a name for Lily's filly. Ayanna which means beautiful flower. I'll send in all the paper work to register all the foals when we name Clara's colt and Paris' colt. One suggestion for Clara's colt was Cannon. Not sure it it really fits him, he is so pitch black and so beautiful I think he needs a name a little more descriptive.
