Most people don't realize how close Bridlewood is to the South end of Peoria. Today was a good reminder. Upstairs doing laundry when the phone rings, Cathie Trent asks me if I am still at home. Then she promptly tells me we need to head over to the neighbors, there is a lady with a hammer and a HUGE butcher knife pounding on the neighbors car. By the time we are over there, the owner of the car is holding the butcher knife and the hammer and the very pregnant young lady is on a cell phone yelling and cursing at the top of her lungs. She is saying, "I was born in jail and I know I'm going to jail, I'm just waiting for the cops now." She did some major damage to the car. The owner of the car, a young man, was very embarrassed at her language and kept apologizing to us. Bridlewood is hosting a pony club clinic today and there are ponies and children all over the place. Cathie herded the the children all into the indoor arena but I think they all learned some new words today. Let's hope they don't ask what those words mean. The police soon arrived, the lady was taken away and peace prevailed. The house is actually a rental house and some of the renters have been very interesting. We had one family where the young boy got a drum set then day and night played them very loudly with all the windows open. The funny thing about that is the playing was awful for the first couple years but by the time they moved on the drummer had actually improved enough the constant drumming wasn't so hard to listen to. Our favorite renters were a grandmother taking care of her teenage twin grandchildren. Those kids were so polite and helpful and need I say, QUIET.
Our special visitor today was a young autistic girl that loves horses and dogs with Friesians her absolute her favorite. She had a good time today and the Friesians and dogs LOVED her attention.
