Thankful for a Warm Barn

No walk again today. It was -6 and I left for the Berean office early. I needed to see if the driveway was passable before the volunteers arrived. It was not but the circle drive by the house was plowed so I parked there and hiked in to the office. Skip had just arrived and as he had all wheel drive tried to make a path to the door of the office but the snow and ice was so frozen it was just too hard. Marvin was the only other volunteer to make it in. The rest were told not to come. Marvin was able to work until 10:30 am then Skip and I were able to finish the rest and were done by 11:30 am but that was without taking any breaks. We had 24 Bible requests and maybe 75-80 studies so were pleased to be done by then. By the time I got home there already was a group at the barn.

Lunch was eaten there then into the gym for bouncy house fun and a loud game of kickball.

No pictures of the games but I took some video which is posted below:
After the games the boys went sledding on the 'death trails' and stayed out longer than expected. The car was taken over to tell them it was time to go to Braelyn's game. By the time we got them back to the barn, loaded into cars and drove to Farmington the game had already started. That is Braelyn far right.
After her games there were 4 more games of the younger teams. The grandkids had fun playing on the bleacher while the adults watched the games.

It was almost 7:30 pm by the time we got out. We drove to Gils for a late supper but they were short of help and asked us to go to the Warehouse. Below is the kids table.
Most of the food was good but it took a long time to arrive and we were all hungry.  Mike went to Middle Grove to check on the spring. Unbelievable but even at these extreme cold temperatures it was open. The lake, even with the bubbler in it, was frozen over. That spring is a gift from God.  All of the horses there were fine.  Below is a picture of Zena and her owner/handler Kate. She will be 2 this year and is just gorgeous.
Madiera is expecting a full sibling to this beauty June 5th.
Zena is a Warlander out of Madiera by Valiant. We are always thrilled to see how our beautiful Horsemeister foals grow up. The big weather news is the temps are going to start rising tomorrow morning. When we wake up around 4 degrees instead of -6 and maybe even get up to 22 degrees. That will feel like a heat wave.  We have been so thankful for the warm barn these bitterly cold days.
