Long Day Driving

Mark felt better last night after sleeping most of the day was up by 3:30 am and since he was up I figured I may as well get up and get going early for our trip to Indiana.  We took our time waiting for the coffee to finish then getting a few chores done around here but pulled out at 5:00 am. The first hour of driving was pretty dark but soon the most beautiful shades of pink started lighting up the clouds. The sun was just starting to break through a dark red color and  light up those trees.  As I was driving I asked Mark to take a picture and that is the picture you see below. He did well.

The GPS took us on lots of small roads. We thought we would be going out on 24 but the town was South of Fort Wayne so we ended up on lots of roads with jogs a mile here, turn in a half a mile go 9 miles turn go another half mile and on and on.  The mileage was only about 270 miles but the trip took 5 hours easily with all the small slow roads. We were supposed to arrive at noon but were about a half hour early so stopped at a Bob Evan's for a late breakfast which was delicious.
We each ordered a meal and shared tastes of everything and had a nice box of left overs to snack on for our way home.
We arrived at exactly noon but it took us an hour to load the flooring. We needed to load 750 of the 2x2 thick rubber squares that are heavy. Both of us felt like we got our exercise for the day. Thank goodness the seller helped too. I forgot to take any pictures but will take some tomorrow. We were hoping to make it home before the snow and rain started but weren't able to and the last 40 minutes were spent trying to see through the rain and snow.  Mark was dropped off at Zane's to pick up the Prius which was fixed and ready. The truck and trailer were just backed into the barn and left. What a long 13 hour day, we left at 5:00 am and made it back in the house by 6:00 pm! I made chicken tortilla soup for our supper and it was delicious.
Good news from mom's house. Karin was feeling better.
