A Cold St Patrick's Day

It was so cold this morning with a strong wind that Mark got the fire going early.

It didn't take him long to bring in a few loads of wood. Notice the snow on the ground. The real feel outside was 11 degrees.
As Joan has Co-op on Fridays I talked Diane and Ruth into coming here for breakfast instead of braving the cold.  Right after breakfast I left for the DMV in Pekin, IL to renew my license and get stickers for one of the trucks and the 2 horse trailer. That went very smoothly and I was home in less than an hour.  The house was cleaned up before going over to mom's to drop off some supplies and help mom into the wheel chair. Diane made grilled meat and cheese sandwiches for mom and Aunt Jinnie. Sarah came with her 3 girls so we played a couple of games there with Diane and Karin.  We got back to our house about the time Rhoda arrived with Iris. The girls had fun doing some crafts before going over to the new barn to ride bikes, scooters and chair.

When Mark got home we decided to go to Gil's Supper club for supper. We ordered 3 meals and split them between us 4 adults and 4 children. There was plenty for everyone. We started with onion rings. River really enjoy those. Zion wasn't sure she liked them.
Zion really liked the spaghetti.
Iris enjoyed the corn fritter.
Check out all those empty plates.
When we got home Rosalie came up to the fence for attention.
I really need to bring her in and get all the burrs out before she delivers.
As long as she was up Rhoda checked her udder.
It is filling nicely but not yet waxing. I sure hope she holds off at least a week, it was only 32 degrees outside this evening. Mark got the fire going well so we could all warm up.
Below is a video of some of the fun.
The girls have now gone home and the house is quiet. We sure do enjoy our grand children.
