Double Baby Shower

The day started out cold but by the time we left church it was sunny and 37 degrees outside. Mark checked on Rosalie so I didn't go out instead straightened up the house before cooking breakfast. My airbnb guest gave me a dozen eggs from her hens as they were leaving today.  Nice fresh brown eggs. Too bad we had already had breakfast but we will enjoy some tomorrow. We left for church at our usual time of 9:15 am and I had Mark drop me off at the front door of church so I didn't have to climb stairs. We had a wonderful Sunday. The morning message was by Mike Kaisner on Numbers 18. If you would like to see that message click HERE. The Bible class and young group made a special lunch grilling brats and hot dogs and served that with macaroni and cheese, a broccoli salad, chips, oranges and of course lots of delicious desserts. Our afternoon service was the communion exhortation. That was a little different this year. David started it with a history lesson then Tim Funk followed up. IF you would like to see that click HERE. After church Rachel was hosting the double baby shower for Jessica and Karli.  Sarah, Zion, Anna, Stephanie, Elisabet and I drove over at 2:30 pm. Rhoda had already arrived. The shower was very well attended and the games were fun. Below are the two expectant moms sitting together with the expectant dad's sitting next to them.  Leah was in charge of the games.

Elisabet and Zion were really into playing the game.
I needed to leave a little early to finish the food for tonight's dinner and had that all ready by the time everyone else arrived. We were able to sit down to eat at 4:30pm. The food was good and plentiful. We had pot roast, carrots, potatoes and onions cooked in the pot roast broth, salad, Hawaiian rolls with butter then warm apple pie with ice cream for dessert.  After supper Rhoda and the kids went out to groom Rosalie. Rhoda sent back pictures.

Rosalie's udder was more filled this evening so Rhoda put her in the indoor arena and filled a water tank for her.  That will make clean up easy tomorrow morning. No waxing but still too cold to leave outside.  David and Stephanie were supposed to leave at 6:30 pm to go to the Rescue Mission for the 7:00 pm service but David's keys were missing. We all started searching. Philip found them at 6:40 pm so I'm pretty sure David and Stephanie were going to be late tonight and he is having the message. Rebekah and Brian had wonderful news this morning. One of their Jersey cows gave birth to a beautiful strong healthy heifer.

Can't wait to taste that fresh milk and thick cream in a few days! Other than the lost keys the day was great!
