Rainy Sunday

The young group hosted an invite last night and today, around 50 from churches all over the Midwest including Bluffton. The singing today was beautiful. Tim Funk had the morning service and Tim Roecker had the afternoon. It was raining when we arrive home and there was an inch of rain in our rain gauge. As there was no volleyball Anna hosted the Sunday dinner at her house and all came except those Texas Sceggels. Somehow we need to get Texas closer to Illinois, we sure miss those grandchildren.  I had to leave Phil and Anna's around 6:20 pm to pick up mom and be at the fellowship hall by 7:00 pm for a talk from Frankie Palermo who was the son of a notorious underworld mob boss Frank "Blinky" Palermo.  His life as a gangster, his life in prison, his conversion and his prison ministry for the last 48 years is quite a story. We drove home in the rain. Pictures were taken but it is late and those will be downloaded tomorrow.
