Holiday Sunday

Last night we got a little rain but this morning it poured and before we left for church a little over 3 quarters of an inch fell.  Church was the usual great. I'm very thankful for our church and church family.  Mike Kaisner had the morning service and Tim Roecker had the afternoon. After church was the annual labor day picnic at the playground. The food was delicious!

Iris enjoyed the food too but she also enjoyed freedom.

Even the dogs enjoyed this picnic.
Below they are waiting patiently for a scrap to be dropped.

After eating, some of the grandchildren wanted to ride Jenis.
Above is Braelyn and below is Israel.

With all the rain, the kids also had fun playing in the puddles.
Ramon came to the picnic and ended up coming over to ride Jenis.
He had to stop and pet the horses on his way back to the playground. Below he is giving Isla attention.
At the playground the volleyball games were going strong. There were 3 full teams.
There was also football games going on.

We also had a campfire and of course enjoyed lots of somemores.
Ron Rumbold came and today just happened to be his 81st birthday. We sang happy birthday to him then gave him a gooey sticky somemore.
If you would like to see the rest of the pictures from today click HERE.  The big news today was the hurricane Dorian became a category 5 with sustained winds of 189 mph and wind gusts of 220 mph. It is now only moving at 4 mph and dropping tremendous amounts of rain on the Bahamas up to 30 inches but the rain is secondary to those sustained winds. Not sure anything will be left standing. The pictures below is an exceptional satellite view of Dorian.

The eye of the hurricane is now 25 nautical miles across. This is just a massive storm!
