Lotus Covered

This morning I was very pleased with both Abby and Cinnamon. Abby walked right up to me as soon as I walked into the paddock. Of course it helped that the other horses had already been grained. She was taken to the round pen and a few pictures taken for the website.  She was put in the outdoor arena while Cinnamon was brought out.
Cinnamon walked away from me but didn't run.  She was worked with a little more before given her grain then also taken out to the round pen for pictures.
If interested in seeing the new pictures for the website click HERE. Lotas was teased and today she showed well.  She stood like a pro when Evan covered her.  Her owner was sent a text and then later emailed when I realized she had never responded to any of my texts. Turned out I was using the wrong number.  Anna dropped Kensley off after lunch as she was needed at Meisters. Below Kensley and Emma are playing together.
Well that might be a slight exaggeration. It was Kensley that was dressing up Emma. Emma hardly moved.
Kensley got out the other toys which moved around as much as Emma did.
We were taking a golf cart ride when I saw Rosaleigh's filly nursing again off Zalena. That filly along with Galena's filly were taken into the stall, grained, handled and then put in a different paddock than Zalena's. They seemed to be fine so we took a golf cart ride and ended up at mom's. She was filling two buckets of water and was going to take them with her car over to water a couple redbud trees she had Joan transplant. The buckets were put on the golf cart and the trees watered. Since it was such a nice day mom came with us to check on the two fillies and to my surprise there was only 1 filly still in the paddock.  We took the golf cart into the pond pasture and found Rosaleigh's filly back with Zalena and her filly. She didn't have a mark on her so I know she just jumped over the paddock fence and ran to her adopted mom.  I will have to take Zalena back to Middle Grove to get this very determined filly weaned. Zalena's filly will be 4 months old in 5 days so I may as well wean her filly with her adopted sister.  Galena's filly was let out with the others and mom taken home.  Mark got home about the time Joan and her 3 youngest came to work on that downed tree limb. With all of us working we got a huge amount of work done.
Joan brought her chain saw and kept that running while Mark used the small Kubota to move branches.
The kids filled wheel barrows and the cage with the smaller pieces. The larger pieces will be split where they lay at a later time.
Joan found a hollow log which will be saved for Indian camp next year.  Mackenson held it up for the picture.
Faith and Berlica turned it around,
so we could see all the way through the log.
Each time the cage was filled Mark would use the Kubota to take it over to the wood pile.
Joan and the kids left at 6:00 pm.  I ran in and made supper of roasted chicken, asparagus, cottage cheese and salad.  After supper we headed up to the apartment to finish installing the new fixtures.
Below both are up and working well, with us finishing by 8:00 pm
I was too tired to clean up the apartment, that will need to be done in the morning as we have guests coming in tomorrow afternoon.  The pictures taken of Abby and Cinnamon were uploaded to the website.
Sarah posted a few pictures of their second to last day at Gulf Shores. She writes: Nolan spent the day fishing while we stayed by the pool and took a walk.
