Ayanna was next, she too did very well. Both of these mares are a fun ride for Karin.
Galena was pulled out last. Today Karin introduced the tarp, first on the ground and then riding Galena around the arena waving the tarp above, around and both sides as she walked and trotted her.
That didn't faze her at all.
We were hopeful that Galena would not react to Karin climbing on her rear end after yesterday's bucking but when Karin slid behind the saddle Galena's ears pinned back and when I asked her to go forward her hind legs went off the ground about 2 inches. Good thing this mare is not athletic. We walked her around the arena with Karin sitting on the rear end until Galena relaxed then let her quit. Hopefully tomorrow we will get less reaction.
Dr. Hoer arrived around 5:20 pm and the health certificates on the foals leaving were done first. Indy was going to be sonagrammed next but when Dr. Hoerr turned on the ultrasound machine it didn't turn on. The battery had died and the special cord needed was not on his truck. He palpated Rosalie first and for sure she is open.
We will try to get her covered tomorrow but without an ultrasound have no idea if she is cycling or even in season. That was a disappointment as I already had someone interested in a foal out of her by Evan.
She was due in April and now IF she is cycling and we can get her pregnant the foal would be due in November of 2019. We lost a lot of months with that loss. Indy was next and Dr. Hoerr is reasonably sure she did settle. She is due August 25th, 2019.
Indy is such a beautiful, kind mare and was well behaved for Dr. Hoerr. She is always one of the favorites of any of our guests.
