She also reported she may not be coming home this week. The weather has been wonderful down there and she thinks she can get a ride back with Spark and Rhonda and is going to send Mike back to work on his own. That doesn't quite seem fair. The video isn't very clear as she sent it by text but it looks like they had a beautifully colored sunrise this morning.
Today is the first day of the second to the last month of the year. How did this happen? This year has flown by. As it IS the first day of the month I drove in to Meisters to pay the first of the month bills on time. Not too much to do there so I was back home within an hour.
Karin was coming this afternoon to go riding and there wasn't much in the house to feed her. She works for food you know, so I baked a batch of brownies and served those with the soup I made yesterday. After that meal we went out riding together, she on Valiant and me on Galena. The other mares are all out of commission as they still have snotty noses and a cough. We worked a bit in the outdoor arena before going around the field for a leisurely trail ride. We had to cut that ride short a big tree had fallen across the trail. No pictures of anyone riding as we were the only people here. I just snapped the 1 picture as Karin was putting Valiant and Galena away.
Mom invited Mark and I along with Joan, Faith, Mackenson, Berlica, and Ruth over for supper and games tonight. We sat down to eat, then noticed mom has a black eye. We were pretty shocked but all of us had to ask what the other guy looked like? Turned out she fell today at quilting. She wasn't actually quilting when she fell, she was washing dishes! She wouldn't let us take a picture though, she had taken her tooth out to eat and with a missing tooth AND a black eye, it really did look like she had been in a fight. The games were fun tonight, Mom WON! She was so far ahead almost the entire game but near the end there was just 10 points separating mom, Joan and I but mom held off for the win. It was a fast game tonight and fun.
The lady that was buying Gideon (Soul x Evan colt) asked for her deposit back and we gave it back. She lives in Alaska and they are already getting snow there. Gideon cannot leave here for a month which would be too late to get him there weather wise. She would not be able to transport him until next spring. Gideon is registered and DNA'D in the Warlander book of the Friesian Heritage Horse registry and is for sale for $5000.00. He is a very sweet colt.
He is well behaved, leads loads, has a current coggins and is up to date with his shots BUT...right now has that snotty nose and a cough. Dr. Hoerr said he will need a month to make sure the lining of his lung is completely healed before transporting him, but when he does leave, he will be well protected from the flu. Check out the video below of this well behaved colt by Evan out of Soul.
If interested in buying him, we can take a deposit but will not show him. The good news was all the foals were looking and seem to be feeling much better. Their noses don't have near the drainage and I heard very little if any coughing from them. I'm still hearing Oksana and Tory coughing but did not hear Anna coughing. Oksana and Anna's noses also seem to be clear of snot. Lisa, the mare that brought the flu here is also on the mend.
