More Snow

I took these pictures of Iris yesterday afternoon when Rhoda arrived. Iris was just so happy to see her grandma.

Just Diane, mom and I walked this morning. Ruth didn't make it and Joan still had company. We had 3 dogs to keep us company, Molly, Kabur and Emma.  When we went into Joan's house to say good-by to Bill and Bethany all 3 dogs were laying on the steps waiting for us to come out and the walk to continue. These dogs are so funny, they are free and can go any time they want around the neighborhood but each morning wait anxiously for the walk to start. I left right afterwards for Pekin, IL to visit Aldi for more groceries and was able to buy the second turkey there for 79 cents a pound. I also picked up extra creamy cool whip and sweet potato casserole for our big Thanksgiving dinner. Those were all taken right up to the barn apartment and placed in that freezer. While up there the bed was made up with the clean sheets.  It is almost ready for our next guests. The car was left out while I brought in the rest of the groceries and made a big pot of creamy chicken and wild rice soup for the Berean lunch tomorrow.
The snow started coming down early this afternoon. I took this picture early afternoon.
I should have stopped and put the car in the garage right away but thought the snow would probably not stick except when Mark got home from work at 5:00 pm the car was covered with frozen snow and ice.  He was incredulous that I hadn't put it in the garage. That took a while to scrape and put away.  It was snowing pretty hard this afternoon and when Karin arrived after work we went to work on the indoor arena. We got things moved out of the way, the arena watered and raked with the 4 wheeler. When Rebekah arrived they brought Valiant and Galena inside first. The heater was turned on and put in the middle of the arena and that little thing actually makes it almost comfortable but winter coats are still needed.
 Rebekah rode Valiant first,
 while Karin worked with Galena
It is too dark inside to get decent pictures but I took a few anyway.

They switched horses so Karin could continue Valiant's training.

At the end of this session Rebekah wanted to ride Valiant one more time.
Karin got the hoses drained. I ordered 2 more loads of sand for the indoor arena from Kickapoo Sand and Gravel.  Sarah works there and knows exactly the kind of sand we need.  She will schedule it when she knows we will be home. It is very convenient for us to have her working there. With this new snow covering the ground and the cold front that just arrived it is suppose to get down into the teens tonight. We have had the wood burner burning brightly all day and the house is comfortable.
