The 'REAL' Labor Day

David and Israel had an interrupted nights sleep in the camper, first going to bed very late after playing physical sports for hours  then the horses running through and unplugging the cord running the air conditioner. But they survived. They came down for breakfast then loaded up Israel's bike and their camping gear and headed home probably to take a nap.
Mark helped repair the damage Valiant had done by first putting a new hinge on the gate going into Valiant's field and remounting the gate.  He took a break from fixing fence to weed whack so I ran over to mom's to watch the volley ball players who were still playing although with new players. Players that had gone home and gotten a good nights sleep. Soon though it just became too hot and most ended up in the lake. Karin made arrangements with 3 of AmyBeth's children Aryia, Kally and Tess, and Michelle's daughter Shaeya for a trail ride to Sandridge State Forest.  Karin was the only driver which meant they needed to haul 5 horses in the 4 horse stock.  Below they are loading the saddles and saddle pads into the back of the truck for the trip.

Below they are bringing Sally and Cookie over from the cabin field.
Each mare got a good hosing down before loading to help keep them cool for the trip.
Below they are getting ready to load Cookie, Sally and Missy.
Below Missy, Sally and Cookie are getting put in the front of the trailer.
Jenis is getting ready to be loaded, not pictured is Sangria already in the trailer.
Karin sent back pictures of the ride.
They stopped for lunch and to give the horses a rest.
They all had a good time on the ride.
Back here we needed to round up the boards, and electric fence to fix Evan's paddock. He was put out in the round pen for a few hours while we worked on his paddock. Karin and the trail riders arrived back just as Evan was being put back into his paddock.  After everything was unloaded Karin went back to mom's to help clean up from the weekend before coming here to help get Claire ready for her trip to Georgia.  She was taken into the round pen for a few pictures for her owner before bringing her into the indoor to hose her down before that long trip.

The transporter's arrived, Claire walked quietly into the trailer then stood quietly while the drivers loaded the grain I was sending and used the rest room.
It helped that there were other horses on the trailer and that she had a nice roomy stall.
Next we had someone want a couple close up pictures of the face of Soul's colt Gideon and a video of his face.  Not sure why but we took Soul and Gideon out, haltered and tied Gideon for a couple pictures.

Next he was taken into the round pen for a video of his face.

It was getting late afternoon by then. Mark went swimming over at mom's to cool off. I got the stalls cleaned then came in to REST. I'm going to head to bed early tonight. I wonder if it is bedtime right now? YES, the answer is YES! This labor day was really all about laboring.
