It started with a beautiful morning with the SUN shining. The first time we have seen the sun in what seems like weeks but really was just days. Mark and I signed up for the early morning Bible study and had to leave for church just before 8:00 am. Sheena was just moved into the stall I had prepared for her the night before. Mom got a ride to church with Joan. Bible study was really good. We are with a great group of people. Tim Roecker had the morning message on doubt and Tim Funk had the afternoon message on hope. Karin worked 4 of the Friesian mares this afternoon, Jenis, Indy, Oksana and Tory. All did very well. She and Sarah Reinhard took Sangria and Missy out on the trails. No pictures of any of that we were busy blowing up balloons. After church the kids had planned David's surprise over the hill birthday party (he turns 40 years old on the 18th.) They filled the family room with black balloons. Poor Zion had a tough time crawling through them.
Below we are waiting for David and Stephanie's family.
Rhoda was playing with Zion,
until her baby Iris woke up.
Israel and Elisabet were warned what was waiting.
When David arrived, he just smiled or grimaced and kicked his way through the balloons.
We had a family dinner before the cake and ice cream was brought out.
As Philips birthday was last week of course we put his name on the cake too.
The grand children got to blow out the candles for their dads.
After the party the children were given the task of popping all those black balloons. Kensley was struggling with that job. Those balloons just didn't want to pop.
We all went over to the playground right after that for volley ball.
The games were fun and entertaining. There were 3 full teams. Rebekah came with her new baby girl Blair River. Below Stephanie is holding this newest addition to the Meister family.
Great grandma was holding Rhoda and Lee's baby girl Iris.
Studley was busy making sure Zero was being submissive. Studley thinks that is his job each week.
Below they are dividing up the teams for volley ball. They always start with all the guys on one side and the girls on the other to try to divide the teams equally. It works the games are usually very competitive.
Rachel was hosting the Bears/Packers game at her house and it looked like it was going to be a really exciting evening and was until the last quarter when the Packers came back to win the game by 1 point. That ended at 10:30 pm making it much too late to do anything more than just head to bed.
