The Flat

We drove over to pick mom up just a bit early this morning for church. That was a blessing, mom got in and we started driving, got to the dumpster and hit traffic. Joan was coming up on the intersection and as a joke Mark slowed down and pointed to the stop sign on her side of the road. Right about then Joan started HONKING. We thought it was because they had to stop and we didn't and kept right on driving until Joan jumped out of her van and started chasing us down. Mark slammed on the breaks, opened the door and Joan exclaims, "you have a flat tire, it's down to the rim!"  We could not feel it and would have driven out on the main road, probably ruined the tire and the rim on the way to church and would have had a hard job fixing it while in our Sunday clothes and been late to church IF we had been just a few minutes later than Joan. Mark backed up the car to mom's and we took her car to church arriving right on time. God is good.
We had a big day today in Peoria, lots of visitors, and visiting ministers. The 4 baptisms in the afternoon may have had something to do with that. It warms the heart to see the church full.
After church Karin held dress rehearsal here at the farm. That was chaotic to start but by the end flowing well. Below are a few pictures. Not to give the play away but the costumes will probably be enough of a clue to know what we are doing this year.  Below are a few pictures of the afternoon thanks to Jessica Sauder. She was in charge of the camera.

Sure is wonderful when everything goes the way it was suppose to. Rebekah did the choreograph and music.  We did not video tape the practice. If you want to come see this very exciting action packed play you will need to come down to the IL Horse Fair at the state fair grounds on March 4th, 5th or 6th.
Mike had to fix another waterer this evening. The breeding shed paddock was overflowing. Then a bit later I noticed Zalena pounding on her waterer and sure enough it was dry as a bone. The float was stuck in the up position not allowing any water to flow through. I was able to get that filled then checked it a couple hours later and it still had water in it. Mark and I are leaving for Florida tomorrow and Emily is gone house sitting. I'll have to ask Mike to check the waterers until she gets back. We can't have the horses going without water.
