In the picture below Sandy is enjoying a fun gallop on Sanna.
below is Samantha
Sanna was bred to Raven and had a gorgeous cute friendly filly. She is pictured below.
Samantha was bred to Raven and delivered 3 months early a beautiful dead colt. She was bred back but did not take. We had Dr. Hoerr come out to evaluate why we could not get her pregnant and the answer was she was pooling urine which would cause abortion. Samantha was taken to Hoerr Vet clinic to have 'channeling surgery' this is where Dr. Hoerr extended the urethra out and down so when she would urinate the flow would go out instead of in. The surgery was successful and Samantha got pregnant and delivered a filly. She was bred back then sold as a 3/1 to Katherine and the next year delivered another gorgeous filly she named Luna. Katherine brought Luna up this year to be bred to Evan. Meanwhile Sanna went on to give us 3 more fillies then was sold in foal to a carriage company where she delivered a very handsome hairy colt for them.
We so much enjoyed Sanna the years she was here. She was beginner safe, safe enough for even Mike's 75 year old father to ride.
Sanna was in many parades each time with a filly by her side.
Rhoda trained Samantha and she was actually used for a bit as a lesson horse at Bridlewood.
When I told Diane I wanted to buy Sanna and Samantha and then told her they were 17 years old Diane didn't even hesitate. It was our biggest purchase at the time and I thought it was a gamble that at 17 they may not be able to get pregnant but the gamble paid off. Sanna easily paid for herself with her very first filly then each year produced another filly. We did not keep any but have 1 picture of Piper who was brought here for breeding to Evan. Isn't this 3 year old Sanna x Raven daughter BEAUTIFUL!
It took a few years for Samantha but even she paid for herself so taking a gamble on buying her also turned out. Both of these mares went to wonderful retirement homes. Sanna was retired from all work while Samantha is at a childrens home as a therapy horse. She just has to let children groom her all day long as she grazes on the lush green grass of Arkansas.
