Valiant's New Son

Rachel Sauder's Quarter horse mare gave birth this morning to a gorgeous strong colt. He is pictured below at just a few hours old with his mom and his uncle Sunny.
This colt has unusual coloring, we believe he will be a very black bay check out the black legs. Now a usual bay foal will be born with almost white legs that turn black, this boy was born with all 4 legs black already. For reference I've posted a picture of Jewel below when she was a few hours old. Notice the difference in coloring?
Check out Jewel in the picture below at 4 months old, see how her legs turned black.
The picture below shows his black legs just a bit better, notice how thick  and well built the bone in his legs are, this boy is going to be an amazing athlete!
I believe this colt is going to darken as he gets older and will look almost black with a tint of gorgeous red showing through in the sunlight. I can't wait to see him mature. Congratulations Rachel!
Karin spent the night with Rachel out on her trampoline to help with foal watch. When I arrived to take the pictures above we had to wake her to hear about the birth.
Today is vaulting practice. Monday when watching Braelyn and Taegan they both got to try out Daryl the barrel.
It's suppose to be a hot one today so Emily and I got busy early and teased mares. Lola was covered by Valiant while Delmira was covered by Evan. Isabella's Song is still in but won't need to be covered until tomorrow as she was done last night. Emily has company coming to ride and will use Jenis, Zalena and Ribbon.
