Rehearsal DAY

This morning Mark and I took a quick trip out to the farm to set up picnic tables, then headed home to finish getting ready for the lunch. We got to the Princeville Fellowship Hall before 11:00am and the smell coming from it was WONDERFUL! The place cards were arranged on the table and the tables looked very elegant. We had 3 no shows but mmmm that left more for the rest of us. Dean Ramseyer fixed the prime rib and it was the best I've EVER had. He also brought the garnish, beautiful edible flowers. Gail Hodel not only cooked the rest of the meal she had every thing arranged with 3 helpers. How thankful we are we could just turn it over to her. The meal besides being absolutely delicious was arranged beautifully. After the meal and before we started on dessert, Phil and Ben got the projector out and started the movie of David and Stephanie's life from the time they were born until today. David then took up his guitar and sang a song he wrote for Stephanie. It was cute but true and we all laughed. We went around each table with everyone sharing something special about David and Stephanie. Her brothers could hardly finish, they were so touched. The entire meal was such a delight. Rehearsal went fine and Mark and I left right after to get home in time to change and get to Raber's to pick up the cooked whole hog. The pig was DELICIOUS! We had a great crowd of revelers to help us celebrate David's wedding. There was PLENTY of wonderful dishes and desserts to enjoy and wonderful fellowship. The volley ball games were awesome, very competitive. Our poor horses really got a workout. They were on the trails by 8:30am and didn't stop until it was just too dark to ride. Knight was a blast. Rhoda gave cart rides with Knight pulling. She even took him down on the trails, up and down hills and through creeks. Anni was perfect, we actually used her for beginners, thanks to Emily Ricketts. Emily did a wonderful job training her and Anni has a nice canter. It will be hard to sell her, she has a great mind. Autumn was also used quite heavily as we had some men that wanted to ride. Jenis was out on trails early, when we pulled up in the morning she was with the first group going out. Her colt had a blast running along beside her, jumping the creeks, and galloping up the hills. Of course Bunni and Paris were the favorites with the beginners and even Duke was well used. It was very entertaining to watch Ylse and her filly on the trails. Tiara stuck close to her mom while Valiant runs everywhere. Karin or Mike rode Mika leading the way, poor Mika was the only horse that had to go out on EVERY ride. Jay and Deanna Knobloch made their very famous funnel cakes after dark mmmm so good! The campfire was so inviting that I would have loved to sit around it singing but just too much to do. We have the wedding tomorrow so off to bed.
