We had a big group for the Peoria AC church Christmas caroling. We have been doing this since I was a girl and I have many fond memories of the past years. This year seemed special. Perhaps it is just because of my age but having 4 generations of families attend this caroling is amazing.
The singers were split into three groups of 30-40 people and each group went to 2 or 3 different homes. Our group went first to Rudy Hoerr's home. Rudy is the 91 year old brother of Jim, John and Carl Hoerr.
Next on our list was the Patricia Home. There we visited and sang with the many residents.
They had a big Santa that sang and danced as we were leaving.
From there some of our group went to the hospital to sing to Barb Schafer, while the rest of us headed back to the church where a wonderful meal had been prepared.
I had to snap this picture of Benji and his daughter Jasper because grandma Gail is just sure her grand daughter is cuter than any of mine. Actually how can we compare they are all adorable.
This year there was an over abundance of delicious food, people went all out bringing many vegetables, salads, side dishes and desserts. The meat was either pulled pork sandwiches or bbq chicken breast sandwich.
I forgot to take a picture of the dessert table until most had been eaten, that was a very popular spot tonight.
What a fantastic day. To top it off, Peoria had an engagement announcement. Tim Funk stands up to give the announcements, says "there is one more, we have an engagement to announce," then before he goes into it he tells us we should pray for Patty and Chris as this is their second wedding in the last couple of months." Of course by the time he announced "Patty and Chris Kummer announced the engagement of their daughter JoAnna to Jess Hoerr the son of Bob and Myrna Hoerr." We had all figured out it had to be JoAnna. We wish them God's blessings.
