To the Farm

Last night Ben, Taunya & Addyson and Phil & Anna stayed at Norris in the horse trailer so I drove home. I should have stopped at the farm to check on Ylse but it was already dark and the one more stop was just too much to think about.
We are up early and have time to post a few pictures of this fantastic weekend. The horses were a big hit with the little girls. They were left loose to graze with lead ropes attached just in case they would travel down the drive, never happened though. Once the horses ran all the way around the lake on their own. The volley ball games were continues and fun to watch. The comment was made that our kids are much better than we were at that age, what are the grandkids going to be like!
We had a huge campfire on Friday night. of course in our family the big thick slabs of bacon were brought out for cooking. After our fill of the delicious greasy treat, the campfire was built up and the singing started. The stars were beautiful and we saw many falling stars zooming across the sky.
The hot tub cover was pulled off and we finished the evening sitting in a bubbling hot tub looking up at the stars.
Once morning came, a group went out fishing with Nate. Fede caught a 10 pound rainbow trout that was thrown back and then these 2 fish that were saved for the fish fry still to come. Rachel's coon was very curious about Justin's head and wanted to keep crawling up his back. Rebekah had the deer that Justin found out on a leash, they now call him Stevie
Stevie was taken down to the beach for a drink and was very curious about the kids. Addyson was afraid and tried to crawl up on her mom's chair.
Nancy had a wonderful time making sand castles on the beach.
The grills were fired up for dinner. Mark, Rachel and Greg did a lot of the grilling.

Mark turns 60 on July 10th so we surprised him with an over the hill birthday cake.
So many candles he needed help blowing them all out.
As 93 of the 96 people in the family were here, Spark brought his fire engine out and Rachel got a family picture. Trying to fit all 93 was not an easy job. Rachel had her hands full getting this sitting close enough to see the faces. My camera wasn't going to get the job done.
The rest of the day was more volleyball, more good food and way too much of the brilliant sunshine.
