Wednesday was beautiful, full sunshine and warmer than Tuesday. I went for a walk on the beach then watched the sunrise with Faith.
We enjoyed Beth's pool and hot tub, read books, laid out in the sun, that went home and made supper. Marvin and Gail came over after supper for church. We all packed our suitcases before heading to bed then got up early this morning loaded the car and took off by 5 a.m. We had an uneventful drive stopping around 9:00 am to fill the car with gas and our bellies with food. Our next stop was around 2:00 pm, again for fill-ups. Joan needed to stop at Walmart for a few things for Co-op on the way home and we pulled in around 8:00 pm. The weather is NOTHING like Gulf Shores. There is fresh snow on the ground, the drives are still icy, the temperature is around 22 degrees and the icy wind is gusting to 40 mph. BRRRR. Emma's dog door was blocked off but she is good about asking to go out and come in. Lola was sold while I was gone but won't be leaving until her 2021 foal is weaned as we are keeping the foal. Mark moved bales in today. The weanling paddock was out and the middle paddock needed 2 new bales. Mike moved Ripper and Mika over to the middle paddock this afternoon. I'll need to check on Irish and Oksana tomorrow morning. The horses at Middle Grove are going through 5 bales a week but with this cold spell coming Mike is putting extra out. Kres, the owner of Lola's and Soul's 2020 fillies sent the pictures below. They had quite a bit more snow than we had.She also wanted me to know that the mane above is NOT cut, most of it falls on the other side. Magda, Soul's filly, inherited the mega mane from both of her parents.
