We had more snow on the ground when we woke up. Mark went out to shovel again this time even before daylight. It was only about an inch and again very light weight. It is so cold that the snow will not pack.
The snow actually helps a little on the drives but made it hard on the walk as we couldn't see the slick ice under it. After the walk mom and I went down town to the Peoria post office to pick up the Berean mail but the line was so long and so slow we had to leave to get to her ear doctor appointment in time. We made it to that with 10 minutes to spare. She needed to see Dr. Ryan Funk for her right ear and he was very professional and very thorough.
Mom was well pleased and when he finished she was sure she could hear better. He had to order a ct scan of her head as there was a small anomaly. From there we went back to the post office and this time was able to pick up the Berean mail. We have a lot of mail to process tomorrow so hope we have volunteers to help. Our next stop was to the bank to close out accounts. We were only able to get one of the accounts closed and it wasn't either of the accounts we went to close out but one of mine that is no longer needed. This was a shared account with Spark and I now owe him a whopping $23.55 which is half of what was left in there. That was put in an envelope and given to Mark to give to Spark tomorrow morning. SO if Spark owes anyone money tomorrow will be the time to hit him up. The last stop of the day was to Diane's office and finally around 2:00 pm we made it home for a late lunch. It has been below zero or in single digits all day and both wood burners have been burning brightly, the house is a comfortable 75 degrees.

It is too cold to work horses but since I posted a picture of Valiant yesterday Evan is pictured today.

The cold spell will be hanging on for longer than expected. Originally we thought if we just made it through the week it would warm up but now the weather people are predicting the temps will stay bitterly cold, not even getting up to freezing for 2 weeks. Tomorrow I will need to move Oksana and Irish into the middle paddock as their hay bale will be gone. I'm really glad the automatic waterers are still working. Going back to the covid vaccine Mark is waiting for his second shot and I am still not interested. I would like to be better informed first. Well today one of my nurse friends sent this to me. I watched it and will post it but you will need to watch it to make up your own mind.
