Special Hymn Sing

We had our time change this morning giving us an extra hour this morning. I had so much time I even got my toenails trimmed without bringing out the power tools. We still got to church early.  Ruth and Joan were serving lunch today so we went right to the kitchen to see if they needed help but they had everything well covered. Mike Kaisner had the morning service and Dave Obergfel had the afternoon. After church we went straight up to the apartment to get the laundry started. Our guests left and left us a fun puppy puzzle. That was taken apart and boxed up and will be taken to mom's house. Winter around here is the perfect time for puzzles. We can work on them while visiting.  They also left a nice thank you note and left a very nice review on the airbnb website.  I'm a little embarrassed to post it here as it may just be a little over the top but here is what was written: “Judith is a wonderful host. She totally went out of her way to make sure our stay was as best as possible. We had a couple special requests with our stay and she delivered above and beyond on them! She is amazing. The working horse farm is a wonderful experience. It is amazing to watch these folks work with the horses and all they do. We gained so much respect for them and the life they live. My adult children were exceptional pleased with the experience and stay. There were 5 of us adults total that stayed and we had plenty of room and sleeping arrangements to accommodate all of us. Beds were comfy. Without a doubt, we would stay with Judith again.”
“Thank you Judith - you are an amazing host and so kind. Also, your willingness to share your horses and your horse knowledge is quite engaging. And all you did with Rita for us was way above and beyond. We will never forget your hospitality.”
These guests were really a neat family and we enjoyed our time with them.
We had a very nice afternoon, much warmer than yesterday so Lee and Rhoda along with Nolan and Sarah went hiking at the Forest Park Nature Center and posted pictures.

Ben took his family for a fun weekend at Broken Bow. They are making a lot of cool memories. Taunya posted these pictures.

Karin and Magda came this afternoon to ride starting first with Valiant then once they were done with him they took Ayanna and Hadassah out on the trails. It really was a beautiful day for a ride. I didn't get pictures though as I was busy doing laundry at the apartment.  Ayanna is starting to bag up. Not enough to worry about for maybe a couple weeks but I'm keeping a close eye on her.
Mark, mom and I went to Hymn Sing at the fellowship hall. Hymn sing starts with a prayer than congregational singing, special groups, more congregational singing, an inspiring talk and ends with a prayer than  of course snacks and drinks. The first special group that came up was the younger Sunday school classes. Elisabet and Israel were both up there singing but we could only see the top of Israel's head. He is in the second row behind Benj and Kristin's daughter Eliana.  They were so entertaining. Elisabet is kind of a perfectionist and had to get every word in just right but by the time she got those words in she was behind an entire measure so there was always an echo to every line of every song. Pretty much everyone in the audience was chuckling.
The next group could have been called the desperadoes or the last resorts or something like that. Bob, the man in charge of getting the groups called Joan a little desperately as the group scheduled to come sing had to cancel. She, her children Sarah, Faith, and Berlica along with the Christensens from Haiti Sean, Heather, Joey, Eric and Ellie sang hymns both in English and in Creole.
The harmony was beautiful and the music touching. We really did enjoy the evening.
