That is Rosaleigh's filly sniffing noses with Jemma. After church we had to leave right away as we had people coming from Kansas to see Madiera's colt by Evan. I barely had time to change before they arrived. He was haltered and handled in the stall then we took him out to the round pen where he had a ball bouncing around.
They wanted to see Evan too so they were taken back to the stall and Evan brought out and of course he too had to show off and bounced around.
Like father like son. They wanted to play with the colt longer but I needed to get Galena covered so left them in the stall with the colt and Madiera while I grabbed Galena and her filly, put the filly in the breeding shed paddock, tied Galena, brought Valiant up and got the cover done quickly. Valiant is so well behaved. Faith, Ellie, Berica and Eric took the walkers out on the trails then ended up at the round pen. Phil and Anna brought their small group out and the children in the group got to ride the horses in the round pen. I was busy with the Kansas people so didn't get to take any pictures of the horse back riding. As soon as the Kansas people left I left for Casey's to pick up the pizza we were having for supper tonight. Rhoda and Lee stopped in Morton to pick up Nancy on their way here. Sarah and Nolan also joined us for supper at mom's as did Karin. After supper we headed out to the playground where the volley ball games were already going on. Zion wanted to go on a golf cart ride.
Iris was happy to play with a plastic cup.
Kari brought her new baby boy over. I think he is mom's youngest great grandchild.
We took the golf cart over to Joan's so Faith could feed her baby bird.
Berlica showed us the raccoon skull they found in the woods.

The games went on until everyone was just too hot and too tired to play. The horses were fed one more time then it was time to come in and rest on this day of rest that seemed to be quite busy. A nice review came in from our guests: What an amazing place. My wife absolutely adored the horses, and the interaction she was permitted with Judy's supervision (helping with chores) made the trip very special for her. The location was perfect, with us having family in both Lincoln and Bloomington. The cookies, as others have noted, are spectacular.
They also sent this personal note:
Judy, thanks so much. My wife had a wonderful time helping you with the horses. That makes me happy. We had a great weekend, and will definitely return. On a side note, probably time to replace the coffee maker. I noticed the burner was looking pretty bad, almost like it was rusted through, as I was cleaning the apartment on Friday and new coffee maker is already on the way. What I thought was amazing about that old coffee maker is how it just KEEPS ON WORKING. They don't make coffee makers that last any more. We have been replacing the one in the house every couple of years.
