A Big Break

We had a break in the weather by that we had storms go around us, rain to the West, North and South but none dropped here. Our farmer was sent at text early this morning to ask him to cut the hay and he promised to be here this afternoon. We are supposed to have a break from this never ending rain and a long enough break that the hay should have time to dry and be baled IF we can make it through tomorrow evening. Roxanne was covered this morning by Evan and Star was covered by Valiant. Karin brought Sue Tappe over this morning to work with Hadassah. Sue is teaching Karin about clicker training and Hadassah was our guinea pig. Hadassah responded very well with this training, both Karin and I were impressed.
Some pictures were down loaded from yesterday's fun this morning a bit later. Rhoda had Iris here and she loves to be held upside down. She was giggling and laughing.

Emma wasn't quite sure what it was all about.
The volley ball games went on for hours with 3 teams rotating in and out.
The kids had fun on the playground and climbing on top of the golf cart to watch the games.
Diane brought over freezer pops, a sweet cold treat on this hot day.
Iris got to chew on the freezer pop but Rhoda wouldn't open it for her.
She was having fun playing with Mike.
This afternoon Diane and I drove out to Han's and Mandy's farm to pick up a half of beef from their charolais cattle. We drove through a rain to get there but it wasn't raining at home.  Rick and his son Ryan arrived around 4:00 pm to start cutting the hay with two big tractors and two mowers. The hay was more than ready to cut, it was ready a month ago but couldn't cut it due to the constant rain.

The fields were all cut in about 3 hours with both tractors working.
 Below are the tractors leaving.

Philip came to mom's after work to fix her air conditioner. It is suppose to get really hot and muggy starting tomorrow.
Joan came over in the row boat bringing some old mattress springs for the dumpster. Mackenson came with her to help carry them and dump them.
On her way back from the dumpster Joan stopped to work on the mulch. She is going to bring in another load to finish the job.
Joan's last job was to rescue the 2 canoes with the girls. They were not able to get the canoe's away from the overflow.  Joan hooked up the 2 canoe's to her rowboat and was bringing them in.  Braelyn decided to fish on the way in.

She sent out a cast and a big mouth bass snatched the lure.
She actually was able to pull it all the way in.
 She was one happy girl.
The girls watched the bass swim away as they let it go. Mark took the tractor with the scraper over to Phil and Anna's house and graded their drive way.

He finished the job and brought the tractor back to the barn. It was a long day outside but what a good day! Now we are praying for sunshine and warmth for the next 4 days.
