Karin and Shaeya started working with Evan even before the walk finished as the weather wasn't going to get any better. We were thrilled with how well Evan did. He hasn't been worked for a couple months. He listened to Shaeya and obeyed.
Shaeya will be showing Evan at the 2018 Illinois Horse Fair. As soon as he was put away we headed into the apartment to find Shaeya a dress for the performance. It didn't take us long to settle on the one pictured below.
Of course we will need to introduce Evan to the dress the next time but that shouldn't be a problem with him. Next out were Galena, Anna, Ayanna and Rosalie.

Yesterday Karin had watered half the arena but that turned out to be a mistake, it froze solid. The hose broke but I found another hose to attach to the new hose Mark bought yesterday and started watering while Shaeya was working with Evan but then dropped the hose while he was taken out. About 10 minutes later I went back to water and the hose had already frozen. That had to be dragged back into the house to defrost. Karin and Shaeya came in for lunch then we all went to mom's to play games. Rhoda sent a couple more pictures of Hawaii today. They are having perfect weather and today visited beaches. She wrote: "the snorkeling at this beach is the best so far."
They are planning to go on the helicopter ride but Rhoda is a little afraid of getting sick.
A nice text came in from Katherine, the lady that bought Zalena's 2017 colt by Evan. She writes: "Just an update: he is 14.1 at 9 months. He is huge, all he does is eat. He looks starving but he is far from it. His legs are longer than my mares. Always nice to hear updates. We knew he was going to be spectacular. Check out that neck in the picture below, he is not quite 4 four months old in this picture.
