The Meister Christmas

I didn't get to go on the walk this morning, instead Mark gave me a ride in to Meister's to meet Spark and together we drove to the Morton auto auction to pick up the new truck. We had to bring along some gas, it was so out that even after I put 2 gallons of gas in it and drove it just down the road to the gas station it took $72.00 to fill it up and over 30 gallons. It drove very well, but I'm not familure with Chevy trucks so will need to study the book a bit before taking it on a trip. Karin was here just finishing up with Rosalie, Jenis and Zalena when I got back.
Above is Jenis helping herself to hay and below Karin is asking Rosalie to bow while Zalena still needs to be ridden.
As soon as she finished with these three they were loaded into the trailer for the trip out to Middle Grove. They were pretty thrilled to be back and took off galloping up the hill to find the herd.

We needed to check up on all the horses before leaving tomorrow morning for Gulf Shores so both Karin and I hiked up the hill to find the herd. They were all spread out grazing and it was quite a hike to get there. The camera was zoomed in as far as it would go in the picture below.
Serenity and Darla were together, these are the only foals out there right now and the only 2 not yet weaned but neither are old enough for weaning. Serenity was born Sept 25th and Darla was born Sept 12th.
 Below is Serenity.
Ayanna was thrilled that Rosalie was back. These two are full sisters and always hang out together. Karin calls them the thugs, they boss everyone around except Lily their mother.
Below is a back shot of Anna and her baby bump. Anna is the first mare due in 2018. She is due March 19th but last year she went 10 days late.
Galena is also looking pretty big but she isn't due until April 9th.
Below Tori, Titiana and Roxanne are over licking the salt blocks.
Titiana is looking amazing, she has put on weight and muscle being out there.  That is her rump in the middle. Karin was actually surrounded by Friesians at that point.
Below is Marika and Sheena. Marika looks just huge and she isn't due until April 2nd, Sheena is due April 25th.
I was also thrilled with Madeira, she too is in good weight and has put on muscle. She has such a thick mane it lays on both sides of her neck.
Ripper is always glad to see humans, below he would not leave Karin alone and kept kissing her on the cheek.

He is like a Golden Retriever, he just wants to be loved.
If you would like to see the rest of the pictures from our trip to Middle grove click HERE. When we got back and the trailer was put away I ran in to Bartonville to buy the food for the party tonight. Amy Koch arrived as I was preparing food and doing laundry so we ran up to the barn to check out the new truck. It is big and strong enough to easily pull our trailers.
The Meister Christmas party started at 6:00 pm, the dinner is always delicious. Below Braelyn has filled her plate with goodies.
After dinner Rachel had games organized, we laughed and laughed.

Below Rachel has brought the microphone out for special numbers. These go on and on some years and the kids have a ball.
Below David's family are watching the special numbers.
After the special numbers Spark always reads the real Christmas Story, Luke 2 and the kids all listen carefully as sometimes he makes mistakes. This year when Santa arrived to distribute the gifts someone else slithered in after him and tried to steal all the gifts. The Grinch did not get away with that, Santa put him right to work GIVING gifts instead of stealing gifts.

We always save mom's gifts for last.
No one wants to miss the Meister Christmas and yet this year we were missing Ben and Taunya's family. They will be joining us in Gulf Shores on Saturday. Thankful for another year, thankful for another Christmas with family.
