This morning our walk was cut short by just one round. Joan and Diane helped load Eli into the trailer which had been hooked up early this morning. As soon as he was in and happily chomping away on his breakfast in there, we hiked over to Rhonda's house for her ANNUAL Christmas breakfast. Actually Rhonda was quick to correct Ruth when she mentioned this was annual, Rhonda doesn't want to get stuck doing this each year but each year she does this so beautifully. Her table is set with sparkling deep red goblets, clear plates and a dark green table cloth. Just so you don't have to use your imagination, this is what we walked into this morning.
No wonder Diane told us Rhonda doesn't need any instructions on decorating. Her entire house was truly beautiful. That isn't her only talent though, breakfast was delicious, she is also a good cook. There were 8 of us around her fancy table, all enjoying the beautiful decorations and the tasty breakfast. Rachel brought warm from the oven scones that went perfect with Rhonda's breakfast casserole, fresh fruit and warm iced cinnamon rolls. We had juice, tea, or coffee to wash it all down.
I was the first one to leave, I needed to be on the road by 8:30 am this morning as I had made arrangements to meet Rhoda and Lee in Chenoa, IL with Eli. They were hired to drive the rest of the way to Indiana to drop off Eli. He traveled well and the owner was thrilled with him. He was so happy to have him home safe.
I drove back to the farm with Rhoda's car to put in 4 hours of work here before I needed to head back up to Bloomington to switch out the truck and trailer with Rhoda's car. Rhoda and Lee said the trip went pretty uneventful. There were tolls but they drove right through them without stopping. Lee said he was going to pay those on line tonight. I never knew that could be done without getting a ticket. I took the trailer straight to Ruth and Fedi's house. Fedi is going to fix the back slider door. As soon as that was dropped off I drove home and started supper. Tonight we had yakisoba. I had everything chopped and in the pan ready for the seasoning and discovered I was out of soy sauce. Thankfully mom had some I could borrow. I made a double batch and will serve it tomorrow at Berean. Amy stopped in with her suitcase for Gulf Shores, tasted it and pronounced it good.
