Successful Trip

This was one of the easier horse delivery trips. Rachel and I loaded Sandy and Rocky up and were on the way by 10:00am. Traveling up I39 we crossed I80 drove 6 more miles and took the next exit. There were no gas stations but a big open parking lot. Not 5 minutes after we arrived the trailer coming to pick up Sandy and Rocky arrived. Both horses were unloaded and loaded within minutes and we were on our way back home. When we pulled up at the farm Emily had taken Sunny to the outdoor arena for some work. He is so gorgeous.

He is a fun ride! He remembered all of his pony club training, not hesitating at any of the jumps and walking right up on the bridge. Once he was put away we brought Lily and her colt in to the stall for a haltering, tying, leading and picking up his feet lesson. In fact even Emily was surprised how well he did. Lily and the colt were lead over to the trailer and both loaded right up. Emma was put in the back and off we drove to Middle Grove to drop these three off and pick up Jenis, Hadassah and Misty. Jenis and Hadassah for breeding and Misty to take to the show on Friday.  All three mares were in season. Killian was used for Hadassah and Evan was used for Jenis. Misty will not be bred. She would need to be AI'd and we aren't set up for that yet. Ralph and Jamie arrived to show us the ribbons she won at the show yesterday.
She told us how wonderful Myrrhcedes did in all of the classes. Emily pulled Misty out for a drive.

Even after the entire winter off, this pony went right back to work. She is an amazing driving pony, absolutely safe! They came upon Luke and his golf cart stuck in the field, hooked the cart up to the back of the pony cart and pulled it all the way back to Sauder's house with no trouble at all. When Emily went to put Misty back in with Sunny and Bonnie, Killian started acting like a brat and charging the fence between the paddocks. Emily pulled out all the electric fence supplies and together we strung wire. It took about 3 minutes once it was done and plugged in for Killian to get shocked. We were really happy about that. It was amazing how that helped change his attitude.
Eliza will be tested in a bit, if she has progressed at all I'll be spending the night up at the barn.
