Pictures After the Fire

Below is an update from Dan:
yesterday,Susan brought me some clothes and brought our kids out so they could see the damage first hand. This is also hard on them because ultimately they were on board with this venture also.. I was able to get permission from the Fire and Police Chiefs to mow the front yard because it didn't look as good as I usually keep it and it was something that I could actually do.. Karin Meister, Dean Wright, Anna, Brian, Ben and Avery Efnor raked up some of the debris in the yard for me.
So this morning started about 6am. It took a while to get dressed just because of the aches and the layers of clothes to protect me from the
cold if it was like yesterday. Anni Davidovics and Jessica Sauder were driving to canton at 7:30 so they gave me a ride to the school.. Fedi Davidovics sent a gas pump along with Anni so as soon as I arrived i was able to hook it up to the existing sump pump discharge pipe. I am Still not allowed to enter that area until the investigation is complete, so the gas pump is the only option to get the water out of the basement..
Abram and I had a quick breakfast at the Vernon street grill before having a meeting with one tenant to discuss future plans. The demo guys showed up about 9:30 so the Fire chief, city administrator and the demo crew started to develop a 3 stage plan.. 1. wait until after the investigation. 2. demo what is a safety hazard first. 3. demo anything else that should be after considering cost , feasibility, and most importantly a spiritual direction...
The Efnors had the building manager quarters (former principle office) cleaned up a bit so the carpet can be removed later..
Ryan and Steven started cleaning the hallway and hauling some of our bikes and other equipment that is salvageable to their shop for storage.
Some of the Boys camp administration showed up to discuss future plans, offer encouragement, labor, prayer support and just to be there for us. It is amazing the quality of people that belong to the family of God..
After one final check of the building we headed home for the first time since the phone rang at 5:37 A.M. on Thursday.. It will be good to at least try to sleep in my own bed tonight... thanks for the prayers... they are all that is holding us up right now..
Looking forward to church tomorrow..
