Roxanne Pregnant

News came this morning that Alpine, one of the Goose Ranch mares, had her foal this morning at 9:45 am.  A beautiful buckskin colt.
]

He is a strong fellow and Alpine is being a good mom. The sire is Valiant.
I had help from the walkers this morning to load Roxanne, Star and her filly for their trip to the vet clinic in Morton, IL. They were ready for us and Roxanne was put in the stocks first.
 It took Dr. Hoerr just a few minutes to find the embryonic vesicle and declare her pregnant.
 With Star is wasn't as easy. He could not find a pregnancy but she is not in season and has not ovulated any time soon.  She has good uterine tone though which is a sign of pregnancy.
 As soon as we were back at the farm I teased her again but she is absolutely sure she is not interested in any of the stallions.  It is exactly 21 days since her last cover so she should either be in season or pregnant. We will keep teasing her and have the vet coming again on Monday so if she doesn't come in we will need to have her sonagrammed again.  Joan's family was all here weeding so I asked Faith if she would come help me get some new pictures and a video of Ivan before he was hauled back out.

This colt really does have good movement.
If you would like to see the rest of the pictures from today click HERE. As soon as we were done we loaded up Roxanne and Ivan and took them to Middle Grove. They were happy to graze on that lush green grass.
Mom called today, she is having a great time at Eastern Camp.  She is going to be bringing home cd's of all the action.
We got word yesterday that Rhonda's dad Dick Haefli had fallen and was taken to the hospital. He was put on Hopsice and today got word that he had passed into eternity. We do not yet know any of the arrangements.
Sarah sold 2 puppies today and one of them is one of her Whoodle puppies. Whoodle puppies are completelly hypo allergenic and wonderful snuggle bugs. Congratulations Tricia.
