Independence DAY

The 4th of the July is always such a special day for our country, the celebration of our Independence from the British. Our day started warm and sunny. Karin arrived to give pony rides and take Hadassah, Tory and Sangria out on the trails. Tory and Hadassah are in training and both did very well. Tory ended up leading the trail ride.

Below they are heading out to the trails.
I headed over to the playground where Spark and Rhonda had family over. Below Josiah is giving a ride to one of his cousins.
The lake was a very welcome cooling center.
Philip took his girls out fishing with the canoe.
He caught a big bass. Braelyn was glad to hold it up for the picture.
Spark was using his handy dandy people moving machine to shuttle them back and forth from his place to the beach. Dean, the person pictured was enjoying the ride, Spark's picture is obscured by the glass.
Zalena and Rosaleigh were turned out to graze. Zalena's filly ran into the round pen while her mom was grazing so a few pictures were taken for her owner.

She had a good time galloping around. Rosaleigh's filly was playing in and out of the hay bales.
It was pretty hot though and it didn't take long before she headed over to her mom.
Mark and I drove to David and Stephanie's house for dinner tonight. They had all of us over plus Dana and Martha Kay. Israel passed out hats while waiting for dinner. Even Iris got a hat.
Below Zion and Taegan are wearing their hats.
David and Stephanie served us delicious grilled hamburgers with all the fixins.
After dinner David brought out the sparklers.

After supper David took a car load to Three Sisters park to save us all a spot for the fireworks. Phil and Anna took their van full of anyone else that wanted to go.  The fireworks there are always entertaining and the children love watching.

The pictures above were taken from Three Sisters Park but not this year as Mark and I left early. We were both tired from our long day outside in this heat. We saw plenty of fireworks though on the drive home and at one point they were so close to 116 as we were driving toward Hanna City that the booms woke Mark up and we could hear the debris hitting the car.
