When I finally got back the stalls were cleaned and fresh hay put down for Lola. Her filly is quite smart, she watched her mama rolling in the sand yesterday and figured out that hay pile looked very comfortable and dropped, rolled in it, dropped again and had fun spreading it around. I didn't have the camera with me but the phone had to be taken out and used she was having so much fun.
Galena and her filly were put out in the pond pasture. Galena needed to be checked to see if she was starting her foal heat. She and her filly went right over to the back of Evan's paddock and sure enough she showed to him. She will be covered in 3 days by Valiant.
Her filly was curious about the other horses but Galena didn't want her to go near the other mares. She really is a beautiful filly.
Evan was busy admiring Galena.
While Oksana and Indy were fascinated with her filly. The gypsy Irish was more interested in checking out the green grass coming up.
Galena and her filly were not left in the pond pasture more than a few minutes as the pasture is just too soft and the grass too short. They were turned loose in the indoor arena until 3:30 then moved into a stall and Lola and her filly turned into the indoor for the night. Tomorrow morning they will switch. Rain is moving in this evening and is expected to rain off and on most of the day tomorrow. I'm sure glad for that indoor arena. This afternoon all the bedding in the barn apartment was washed and the beds made back up for the next guests. The floors were swept but still need to be scrubbed but I ran out of time so that job can be done tomorrow. At 4:45 pm Diane, mom, Mark and I went to church to help with the Wednesday family night dinner. Mike Reiker had the message on Jonah and the whale. It really was good to be there.
