Beautiful Sunday

We had an amazing Sunday from the time we stepped into church until now (bed time).  David Obergfel had the morning service. He read in 2nd Chronicles about King Uzziah who reined 52 years then became proud and wanted to do what he should not and ended up with leprosy. Tim Funk had the afternoon service. Peoria hosted ACYF so we had the Bible classes from 6 or 7 different churches and the entire front was filled with high school age kids.  Tim told of his accident where he was burned badly. The sanctuary was so silent as he was talking one could hear a pin drop.  There ARE two destinations, we were all warned.
After church Karin had a trail ride scheduled for 2:00 pm with Sally, Missy, Cookie, Bunni, Ripper, Oksana and Indy.  Below are just 3 of the 7 horses that went on this ride. All did well and this ride was not for beginners. They did a lot of cantering and even galloping for some of it.
Nolan is riding Oksana, Karin is riding Indy and Mike is riding Riipper. Ripper is Soul's colt from 2014. He turns 5 years old May 7th and is still in training. He was expected to keep up with th eothers as they crossed the creeks and galloped up the hills and in the fields. He did VERY well today. After the ride Nolan and Karin helped get Galena covered by Valiant and Indy covered by Evan.
Phil and Anna's girls came early for dinner with their bikes. All 3 girls are now riding 2 wheelers and practiced riding their bikes all the way to Berlica's house and back.
Marika's udder was checked, still no sign of her waxing. She isn't due for 10 days and usually does not go early.
We had a good group for dinner today and after dinner all of us headed to the playground. David and Stephanie brought their 2 and Nolan and Sarah brought their two so we ended up with 7 of our 12 grandchildren and 8 adults.
The grandchildren enjoyed the trampoline while the big kids worked on the volley ball court to get it ready for the big games this evening.
Today was the first day of outdoor volleyball and a big group came. They had 3 full teams so played each game to 15 giving each team plenty of games.

Rebekah and Brian came with their 3 children. Below Molly is checking out their youngest daughter Blair.
If you would like to see the rest of the pictures from this afternoon click HERE. I didn't take many we were just so busy playing.  The indoor arena was cleaned up and all the horses taken care of this evening.  We had a beautiful warm sunny afternoon. The volley ball lights were turned on and the games went on until late. It is now after 9:00 pm and has just started raining. We were all glad the rain held off until the outdoor fun was over.
Yesterday Mike took the 2 horse trailer to Middle Grove to pick up Sally and Ripper. He took a couple videos of the horses coming when they heard him arrive. Below is the first video.
The second video was taken as they got close. Not all of the horses are in the video but he was able to video a lot of them as they arrived. There are only 3 grays out there right now as we brought Cookie and Soul here yesterday morning.  The dark gray is Ripper, the next dark is Hadassah and the mare that looks white is Sangria. In the video below you can see Sangria giving one buck.

  1. its amazing how much Sangria has faded. you should do a side by side comparison from the way she looks now to the picture you have of her when Athena was born and she was dark grey :-)
