Other than garbage cans and tree limbs blown all over the place there was little storm damage from the high winds. What IS a problem though are the drives coming to our house. The steep drive is pretty much washed out from the amount of driving rain yesterday and the side drive going to the barns is almost too soft to drive on. We took that over to mom's this afternoon and came close to being stuck. This morning was the time change and I admit to struggling with getting up early enough to get everything done before leaving for church. Diane and mom came with us this morning. We heard Mike Rieker give the morning message and Craig Stickling give the afternoon message. Both were good and will be listened to again.
Dinner was going to be served at mom's house at 4:30 pm. I kept looking at my watch and wondering why the time was going so slow. Finally around 3:20 pm I told Mark, "lets just go over early." only to find everyone had already arrived and were waiting to sit down for supper. It was only then I realized I had forgotten to change my watch.
We had a wonderful Sunday dinner. Karin grilled steak for everyone and that was served with sauteed mushrooms, onions, sweet potatoes, salad, rolls, butter and apple pie for dessert. Braelyn found the broom that Sarah had used as the Wicked Witch of the West and had to pretend to be Sarah riding Oksana while sitting on mom's rocking horse.
Those kids sure had fun at the fair. Below is Elisabet practicing pouring water from one cup to another.
The other grandchildren were having a ball playing in mom's basement. She has the best toys ever! Karin picked up Nancy so she could enjoy the meal too. After dinner Karin left for volley ball and I took Nancy home.
