Sunshine

We had a quick walk this morning only getting in one round before leaving for Berean. The work there went very well and if you would like to read about our morning there click HERE. I made it home just in time to take mom to the eye doctor. They were very busy and we ended up waiting for quite a while.
Mark was already home by the time we made it home. He had already eaten the left overs from the Berean meal and was ready to head out to work. Today he worked on the fallen tree in Valiant's pasture, splitting most of the logs that were cut earlier. As he was working he noticed Hannah going by in her car and the bottom of her car hitting the drive.  Mark had the same thing happen to his car earlier so bought a package of 100 fasteners for $7.00 on the internet and had Hannah drop the car off at the barn.
Mark has that handy dandy car lift which makes it easy to work underneath. He was able to fasten it back up pretty quickly.
A nice message with pictures came in from Julie, the owner of Jewel's first foal by Evan. Olivia is almost 7 years old. Julie writes: Got my first English saddle and bridle today. Looking forward to learning more new things with her.

Olivia is just beautiful. Jewel is expecting again due May 10th. She had a black filly her very first pregnancy by Evan and last year also had a black filly but she has had some gorgeous bay foals also. Birthing season is about to start, we have pregnant mares in 3 different paddocks. This afternoon Lola was laying flat on her side and she is so heavy in foal her back legs were sticking straight out. Mom was worried she was contracting but she was just enjoying the sunshine. There were horses laying down in just about every paddock.  The sun shone most of today and that really is helping dry things up around here except rain is suppose to move in tonight. Hopefully we won't get much rain as Mark has big plans for the driveways this week. Foxy's owner called to arrange a time to pick her up. They plan on coming March 28th.  I talked to Emma at Hoerr Vet clinic to schedule a time for health certificates. Foxy is still at Middle Grove and will need to be picked up before Dr. Hoerr comes. Foxy is due April 29th and needs to be at her home at least a month before the foal comes.
Mike moved all of the horses over to the summer pasture on Saturday. I'll have to plan on hiking a long way when I go to pick her up. That pasture is HUGE with lots of hills and valleys.
