Right after the walk I drove to Sam's club to pick up dog food and dog biscuits but also found a couple good buys on meat buying a top roast for $2.99 a pound and a boneless pork loin for $1.89 a pound. Both were frozen when I got home for later. My next job was to clean the stalls from last night and move in another round bale into the middle paddock. While that was being done Philip called to ask me to go with dad down to St. Louis for a Trane meeting. I was able ask Diane to checkon the mares tonight and tomorrow and mom to take care of Emma. Mark was here ready to pick me up in a half hour giving me just enough time to finish what was needed and throw in some clothes in a duffel bag for tomorrow. We had an uneventful trip down until we were ready to check into the Westin Hotel and they could not find our reservations. Mark had them checking all different spellings of our last name but no luck. He finally called Trane and they called the Westin and figured out the room was reserved for Mark Meister. We would not have guessed that! We had skipped lunch and had some free time so walked to the stadium area where food was served.
We found a Mexican restaurant inside, ordered 2 beef fajita's and brought them back to our hotel room for supper.
Mike has been working at Middle Grove and sent the two pictures below of the horses all out grazing and drinking out of the lake.
It is such beautiful land and the horses love it there. Even though it is still cold we will have less and less of the hard cold and more and more of the warmth. I'm thankful we made it through another winter. Not just an average winter, this one was a HARD winter. We have bad weather moving in tomorrow evening so will leave here right after lunch.
