Since I didn't get to watch Israel today, Stephanie's job didn't need her to come in, Anna was called to see if she would drop of the girls for my grandma fix. She agreed to bring them in a few hours giving me time to make some Christmas goodies for Rachel's party tonight. Each year the Sauders have the first Christmas party of the year when they put up their Manger Scene and everyone brings sweet and or savory treats. When the girls arrived the cooking stops.
Braelyn and Taegan were having a horse race when Emma walked between them and gave Taegan a big sloppy wet kiss.
Below is Taegan's reaction. They sure like Emma and Emma likes them.
Mom called to get a ride over to Rachel's for the Christmas party. I asked her what time and when she replied 6:00 pm I didn't think we could make it in time but we got to her house right at 6:00 pm. The view from her house looking across the lake is a 3 story Christmas Star David and the boys put up for Rachel as a surprise. The star was reflecting on the lake ice and lighting up the area well.We walked in to find Rachel busy getting the food on the table but looking kind of confused. She looks over at her clock and asks, "is the clock right?" Only then did we find out the party was suppose to start at 7:00 pm but we weren't the only ones who showed up an hour early. Right after we arrived Mike and Diane arrived. We usually tease mom that if we aren't 15 minutes early in this family we are considered late but an hour early is stretching it. Thankfully Rachel didn't send us home, she fed us! When the rest of the company arrived at 7:00 they were teased about showing up late. Braelyn and Taegan were enthralled with Baby Jesus and just couldn't seem to keep from taking him from the manger to rock him.
The puppy was also a big draw for the girls. Twelve year old Sasha surprised everyone by having him on Rachel's birthday. No one even knew she was pregnant. She only had the one pup but what a handsome fellow he is. The Sauders are going to keep him so don't even ASK to buy this very rare expensive puppy.
The lights were all turned off and Christmas carols were sung to the baby lying in the manger softly lit up by the twinkling lights, and the flash lights Berlica, Braelyn and Taegan were holding.
After the songs were sung and the lights turned back on it was time for more delicious food.
