Today was our Peoria church's Christmas program which was held instead of our afternoon service. The most impressive part was when the Bible class came up to sing. The young group joined them
and together filled the church with beautiful music. Mom pointed out she had 8 grandchildren in that group and 2 were missing, Ryan (Ruth's) and Sarah (Joan's) didn't sing with the group.
The Peoria young group is special, they really have a heart for God and are such a good example to the younger children who were sitting in the first 5 benches watching and listening. Each of the younger children have a piece to say into the microphone. We never know who is more worried about missing lines, the parents or the performers. Jozef and Tina's son Koby stole the show with the 3 year old class.
Tonight was the all church Christmas caroling. Everyone was to meet at the church at 4:30 pm then break into 4 groups and each group had 3 to 4 places to carol. Our group sang at the duplexes at Skylines. We arrived at the first home (Willis and Lois) and surprised them. Willis said, "we didn't expect you until tomorrow!" The very next duplex we heard the same thing, and by the time we got to Harry and Loretta's we realized someone had given them all the wrong date. Actually when we got back to church we found out that there is another group going to the duplexes tomorrow! These people are going to be surprised all over again! After we showed up tonight they will not be expecting anyone tomorrow.
After caroling all the groups met back at church for a lasagna dinner. There were tables of dishes hot and cold and an entire section of Christmas goodies for dessert.
