Noisy Neighbors

This goose family lives in the pasture pond. They come up each evening to visit the horses. Today I brought the camera out for a few shots of this goose, gander and their three goslings.

Usually the geese around here are very noisy, honking when taking flight and honking when landing. These today were quiet.
We had to move a bale in this afternoon but waited for the the storm and rain to pass. This storm had more wind than rain thankfully.  We have only 10 bales left and there has not been a long enough break in the weather to cut and put up our first cutting of hay.  I keep telling myself God knows what we need and He has never let the horses starve. If we don't get a break in the weather soon we will have to haul most of the horses to Middle Grove to get them off hay and onto the grass. Eliza got covered today by Valiant. I tried something different with him, tying him up in his paddock then bringing Eliza in there. It worked, although Valiant got too close to the electric fence and got shocked. That may be why he was well behaved.
We had a quiet afternoon, the volley ball players showed up but I didn't even go over to the playground. Still resting up from the busy week. So thankful God gave us a day of rest!
