Fishing on the Gulf

Right after a GOOD breakfast today cooked by our short order cook, Beth, mom gave Aunt Jinny the gift she brought down with her. As you can see it fits! Aunt Jinny and Uncle Peter are heading to Africa next summer.

We made plans today to do some fishing, Beth pulled out the poles getting them ready.

While she was working we were on the balcony watching hundreds of fish hurling themselves out of the water near the shoreline desperately trying to get away from the big fish below.

Beth brought the poles down to the beach, the very first cast mom pulled in this nice sized whiting and after that it was one fish after another. At first they would walk the fish back into shore and put it in the bucket but soon Beth was unhooking fish and bringing them in as fast as possible.





They got so many mom gave a few of them to our very polite guest.





We had fun watching him swallow the fish.
Beth ended up taking back to the condo and cleaning 17 of the bigger fish, some of the smaller ones were let go out in the gulf and the heron got 2. I'm so glad Beth is here, she even let me pull in one. Tonight we will cook them for dinner, hmmmm good!
