Dangerous Fishing

A storm was brewing out at sea this morning with lightning and thunder rumbling. We were able to watch this off the balcony, this storm looked almost like a mushroom cloud of an atomic bomb.

Becky and Aunt Jinnie went down to the water to watch the sun breaking through the clouds and came back with a feather.

Then after a delicious breakfast cooked by mom, Diane was trying out new hairdos for Barbara trying to find an elegant yet simple way of putting it up.

The weather cleared up quickly, we left for the beach, some to fish, some to relax, some to read and some desperately trying to keep out of the bright sunshine.

The fishing was interesting, the whiting weren't biting but Beth and mom were pulling up some weird fish. Below are a few of their catches of the day.

Beth caught this Jack below and was using it for bait.

Something huge grabbed it and took off breaking the fishing line.
We were actually glad the line broke, look at the pictures below. Diane is floating on the raft, see the dark area to her left, that was some kind of big fish, perhaps the shark that came swimming at mom and Beth just a few minutes before chasing the smaller fish out of the water on Diane's right.

In the top left of the picture below a fin is sticking out of the water and again the fish were hurling themselves out of the water all around Diane.

Mom was the last one willing to stay out, she was determined to reel in a big one and didn't quit until the last bit of bait was gone.

We couldn't figure out if she was just brave or not too smart. By this time it was 11:30am and hunger was letting our brains know we needed to refill our empty stomachs. Beth put out a beautiful spread of deli meats, cheeses, vegetables and fruits.
The next job on the list we must do is go lay in the pool, man these jobs are hard.
