700 pounds

We had another sunny morning but this morning was colder than yesterday with a breeze.  We still had a good walk.  After the walk I drove to Stock +Field (Big R) for more grain. I still had grain here but it is on sale this week 50 cents off per 50 pound bag for the 12 %  The equine senior was not on sale but I wanted to pick up 4 bags of that too. The car was stuffed full by the time I had everything loaded. I can fit 14 of those 50 pound bags in the small Prius. Of course that meant loading 700 pounds of grain onto a cart, pushing it to the checkout, loading it into the car then unloading and dumping that same 700 pounds myself. When mom called to see if we could leave early for Nancy's open house I was more than ready to sit in a car and relax. The open house is not quite as we expected but Nancy was glad to see us and show us the nicely decorated sugar cookies she helped make and of course she was very glad to eat one of those cookies.  We were home before 2:00 pm which gave me enough time to finish the laundry, empty the apartment freezer  and do a little book work for Horsemeister before needing to make supper. After supper Phil and Anna dropped off the girls so they could go to a Christmas party. We had fun designing edible creations.

Braely and Taegan got in a small squabble. They felt bad about that and each wrote a nice note to the other. Below is the note Taegan wrote to Braelyn.
Braelyn decided to write music for the piano. I think she really enjoys music at her school and wants to be a composer.
They all had a lot of fun tonight and the night just seemed to fly by.
Tomorrow I'm heading out early to Middle Grove to pick up Tatiana's filly for weaning and hopefully bring Tori home. Mike and Diane are staying the night out there and will have the 4 wheeler out so it shouldn't be too much walking.
A neat memory showed up on the Horsemeister Facebook of bringing 2 year old Oksana home for training. This happened 5 years ago:  Companion animal or not, decide after reading this true story. We were bringing Oksana home from Middle Grove a few days ago. She was in the back of the trailer, the weanlings were in the front. We stopped at McDonalds so Emily and Rhoda could get some lunch. Oksana quietly watched people coming out the door for the entire time the girls were in there but as soon as Rhoda and Emily walked out the door she started neighing, calling to the girls. Co-incidence? I don't think so.
This happened 5 years ago, Oksana was only 2 years old at the time and had spent most of her life at Middle Grove with the herd. She was watching for HER girls.
