The farmer arrived to start cutting the hay just as the campers were coming over for lunch.
Sadie and Shaeya arrived earlier to help with the horseback rides for today. They rode for hours!
On one of my trips back to the barn to take care of Zalena I caught Ruth planting flowers in the flower box. The walkers this morning decided since I have guests coming in to stay at the apartment soon I MUST have flowers in the box. Diane gave Ruth the job of picking them out.If you would like to see a few more of the pictures just of through the horseback riding click HERE. I'm still working on the rest of the pictures of the Indian Camp's first day which will be in a separate blog post.
Lacy, Mercede's mare was teased and covered by Valiant. Rosaleigh and her filly were put in with the other mares and foals today. The filly wasn't quite sure what to make of the other foals and stayed close to her mom. It went well though, they settled down right away at one of the round bales in that paddock.
This ride didn't go as well. Soul kept jumping the creeks, Star's colt kept wanting to go back to the paddock to be with Foxy's filly and Star was a nervous wreck.
They decided they would not use Star tomorrow after this trip. More pictures will be added later. I ran back to the house to start on the pork roast for the Berean meal. The campers swam in the afternoon, then made fishing poles and fished catching lots of fish. Joan cleaned them and will cook them on the last day of camp. They caught 4 big frogs so far and frog legs will also be on the menu. This evening the girl campers worked on beading their cloths while the boy campers chopped wood for the fire.
