Emily arrived while I was at the funeral and helped Karin with the first group. By the time the funeral was over, they were ready to head out on their first trail ride of the day. Hannah rode Paris, Emily rode Jenis and Karin rode Sally. The next job for Emily was to put training into Lilypony.
Above she is round penning her and below she is asking Lilypony to accept leg on.Emily finished the arena work up with asking for the bow and lay down.
The ride went well, next up was Ayanna's turn. Below they are tacking horses up for the 3rd ride of the day, Hannah is on Jenis, Emily is on Ayanna, Karin rode double with Carrie on Sally while Sophia rode Paris.
Above is Karin in the lead on Sally, Emily on Ayanna, Sophia on Paris and Hannah on Jenis. Below is Emily and Ayanna. Emily shared after the ride that Ayanna doesn't hesitate going through the creeks but doesn't have a lot of stamina. We are really pleased with how well Ayanna is coming along.
Sue Martin brought Piper over to breed to Killian this afternoon. That was a successful cover. We asked Emily to ride Piper around the arena before Sue left. Piper was perfect. The lighting wasn't the best in the pictures below, just too bright and washed out her color but this mare is gorgeous and will make a great cross with Killian. Piper is easily 16.1 an will be 4 years old the end of July.
Emily stayed for dinner then had to head back to Forrest, IL to get her chores done for the day. We were thrilled to have her and kept her busy all day.
Rachel is hosting Jessica's graduation party at the playground. Mark and I went over to watch some of the volley ball games and visit.
